Interview with Anthony del Col and Conor McCreery of “Kill Shakespeare”, Part 8
Anthony del Col and Conor McCreery are the co-creators and co-writers of the Shakespearean, revisionist comic book series Kill Shakespeare. In this final installment of our multi-part interview, we ask the writers a few personal questions to get to know them better.
What is your favourite food?
Anthony: I didn’t have sushi until I was in my twenties, due to the fact that there were no sushi restaurants in the northern Canadian city I grew up in, and I was also scared that it was “raw fish”. Perhaps because I went twenty years without it, I can’t get enough of it these days!
Conor: I couldn’t stop at just one, but if I had to choose it’d be either a crisp Granny Smith Apple, or a fresh pint of tart Blackberries (natural crunchy peanut butter is also up there).
Do you have any pets?
A: None. I’ve never really had one at all over my entire life – I find it hard enough cleaning up after myself…
C: I love animals. I have a pair of cats right now, Ruggie and Chong, but grew up with dogs for most of my life. One of my favourite childhood memories is coming home from Beavers at the age of six or seven and there was this little black and white ball of fur sitting on the couch – that was my first dog, Marble. (I’d just learned what a Marble cake was, so I was pretty happy for an excuse to use my new knowledge [grins]).
The latest series of Kill Shakespeare, Tide of Blood, launched on February 20th.
