The False Prince

The False PrinceSage never expected to be the pawn in a nobleman’s game. But life isn’t easy for an orphan in a kingdom on the brink of civil war. So, when he and three other boys are shortlisted to impersonate the king’s long lost son, Sage finds himself competing for a chance to sit on the throne.

There’s just one little problem, Sage, well he kind of has an issue with authority. With his life hanging in the balance the cunning orphan must come up with some plans of his own. Which doesn’t bode well for nobelman Connor and his minions.

Jennifer A. Nielsen creates a kingdom brimming with unique characters: Craven Latamer, scholary Tobias, arrogant Roden, and the clever, hell-raiser Sage. Fast-paced, clever, intriguing, and filled with unexpected twists and turns The False Prince will go down well with fans of Megan Whalen Turner’s The Thief.

Why You’ll Love It:
If you love gritty characters with attitude – Nielsen’s The False Prince is the book for you. The False Prince is also the first book of The Ascendance Trilogy, so if you finish this book and enjoy it, you can read about Sage again!

Choice Quote: “I can’t deny there’s danger with my plan,” Conner said. “If we fail, there will be terrible consequences. But if we succeed, the rewards are beyond your imagination.”
