Cory Doctorow Talks Star Wars and Becoming a Writer
Cory Doctorow – the award-winning author behind such Ruby Skye favourites as Little Brother and Pirate Cinema – talks to Author Magazine about his childhood memories of writing, understanding the industry and how he approaches writing as a job.
“In 1977, for me, [Star Wars] was the first story I saw that was complicated,” says Doctorow, author of the bestselling Little Brother. “There was stuff in it that involved multiple points of view, and there was a turn and a reversal, there were atemporal sequences that were told out of time, and so on. All of that kind of blew my lid.”
In this interview with Author Magazine, Doctorow speaks openly about how Star Wars inspired him as a child and the journey he took to eventually become a writer. Along the way, he discusses what it takes to make it as a writer in the industry, what he’s learned from being an author and lots more. For Ruby Skye and O’Deary fans, this is a must watch!
