Tara Hudson Talks Inspiration, Cemeteries and Seeing Ghosts
Author Tara Hudson speaks to Girls in the Stacks about Hereafter, the first novel in her trilogy of the same name.
“There is a cemetery that I used to be dragged to by my grandparents when I was a kid,” explains Tara Hudson, the author behind the Hereafter trilogy. “It’s in this really overgrown clearing, a really creepy place, and I never knew much about it. I found out later it was my family cemetery. It’s been around since the 1800s, which in Oklahoma, is a big deal – nothing’s been around since the 1800s. And so that place kept coming back to me when I was writing Hereafter, and I knew I wanted to incorporate it.”
In this interview with Girls in the Stacks, Tara Hudson talks about a whole host of topics – from the things in her childhood which inspired her to whether or not she believes in ghosts. She even gets a little into her beliefs about human emotions and memories physically affecting a place after death! So if you’re a Hereafter fan and you want to dig into Hudson’s brain a little deeper, this seems like the perfect place to start. Check out the interview right here!
