J.R.R. Tolkien Reads a Chapter from The Hobbit

J.R.R. Tolkien himself reads and acts out The Hobbit’s infamous riddle scene.

In this rare recording, J.R.R. Tolkien – the famous author of the internationally renowned book The Lord of the Rings, amongst others – acts out most of the fifth chapter from his children’s book, The Hobbit. The chapter is most famous for its introduction of the character of Gollum to the world, and his frightening riddle game with the hobbit Bilbo Baggins.
