Susan Glickman’s Favourite Childhood Book
We asked Susan Glickman, author of Bernadette and the Lunch Bunch, Bernadette in the Doghouse, Bernadette to the Rescue and upcoming release The Tale-Teller, about her favourite book from her childhood.
Susan, what book from your childhood do you read over and over again?
I still keep going back to The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, with wonderful illustrations by Jules Feiffer. It’s a fantastically funny book full of puns and wordplay about the transformation of a bored boy named Milo into a hero who defeats villains and saves princesses and, in the process, discovers the power of his own imagination. I give it to every kid I know and they all love it as much as I do.
Don’t forget to check out Susan’s new book, The Tale-Teller, now available through Amazon!
