Susan Glickman’s Writing Process, Part IV
We asked Susan Glickman, author of Bernadette and the Lunch Bunch, Bernadette in the Doghouse, Bernadette to the Rescue and her new release The Tale-Teller, about her writing process.
When you start writing a new book, do you write an outline first? Do you know what the ending will be?
Some books start with my knowing what happens at the beginning or the end, some just with a theme or a character. If I know the ending I’ll probably sketch an outline before I start writing, but even then the outline keeps evolving, because things change as I get to know the characters better. (I wouldn’t want to force my characters to do things they would never do just because one Tuesday afternoon in May two years ago I wrote those things down on an outline!)
Don’t forget to check out Susan’s new book, The Tale-Teller, now available through Amazon!
