The Sammy Keyes Series
Love mysteries? How about laughing? Then you’ll adore Sammy Keyes.
The Sammy Keyes book series is a series you definitely want to check out. Sammy’s a clever (and sarcastic) kid who stumbles onto evidence of crime everywhere she goes, from her middle school to Hollywood. If you haven’t heard of her before, here’s some reasons why you should be reading her stories:
1. Sammy’s funny
Nobody talks quite like Sammy. She says that her friend “comes flying down the sidewalk like a cat trying to waterski.”
2. Her fights with Officer Borsch
In the early books, she doesn’t exactly get along with officer Borsch. To him, she’s “like a swig of sour milk that he can’t spit out.”
But unfortunately for Officer Borsch they’re always trying to solve the same cases, so they’re stuck together.
3. She’s smart.
Who can piece clues together better than Sammy? She’ll snoop, she’ll spy – and she’ll get things done.
4. The people she meets are really weird.
She meets a man pretending to be a superhero and a woman who earns herself the nickname “Psycho Kitty Queen.” If Sammy ever met someone normal, she’d probably die of shock.
5. She’s brave.
To solve her cases, Sammy has to get tough. She’ll tackle criminals and snoop in some of the scariest places imaginable.
6. She’s a good friend.
Sammy’s constantly dragging her friends into trouble. That’s why Sammy always finds a way to make it up to them.
7. She’ll take on the bullies.
Bully Heather Acosta is always plotting ways to make life tough for Sammy.
Sammy always finds a way to save herself though.
8. Life at home is pretty stressful.
Sammy’s mom left for Hollywood and so Sammy’s living illegally in her grandmother’s apartment. If Sammy get’s caught, she’s toast.
9. Sometimes she wears disguises.
10. She cares about justice.
Sammy cares about getting her cases solved. She wants to help people and she wants the bad guys to pay.
